I give this this book two thumbs up... From start to finish the author kept you wanting more. It makes you think about what actually goes on within the churches but also keeps you grounded enough not to lose your faith in GOD. Keesha

I enjoyed reading "The Amen Sisters," I loved the reality ending of the book especially. The scriptures given in between the dialogue makes you want to reference your Bible to.....

The Darkest Child

The Darkest Child is a novel that shakes the core of your being. The sadistic mental and physical abuse that the Quinn children suffered made you cringe with resentment toward their mother, Rosie.
The novel tells of the degradation that one woman feels as she journeys through life with the knowledge that she is a product of her mother being raped, a woman with extreme sexual promiscuity, and the responsibility of raising ten chi.....

"I want people, not just women to know that although the book is fiction.  Ruth's abuse was and is real.  It will always exist and just because it isn't happening to you doesn't mean it isn't happening.  Until you walk in her shoes, don't judge her or say what you would have done.  Like anything else in our lives, when we've had enough, we've had enough and only then do you get the co.....

" This book was very interesting because it makes you stop in the middle of it to give thanks and appreciation  to GOD that you are a free African-American and can and should read when ever, where ever and what ever you choose."Neicy

"Octavia Butler captured in Kindred what many black people suffered at the hands of whites in slavery days. It really makes you appreciate what many of us take for granted in today's society." K.....

"Although an easy read this book had plenty of action going on, it left readers in a state of anticipation, wanting to find out what would happen next (I guess that’s why the majority of the club was able to finish it in about two days)!

This book is just another example of the age old adage “money can’t buy you happiness.” While reading the book I felt a variety of feelings…everything from rage to elation. All in all it was a good book.....

"I loved this book. I was sad in the end although I knew something was going to happen. I just wasn't expecting it to be the way it was.

You have to read it and see what I mean."- Erica
